NSF 2015 Teaching and Learning Video Showcase:
Improving Science, Math, Engineering, and Computer Science Education
to be held as an interactive event online on May 11-15, 2015

This online showcase event will take place from May 11-15, 2015. During these five days, members of all of the resource centers will be able to view the video presentations, participate in facilitated discussions of each video, and vote for the videos that are most effective in conveying the creative work being done. We hope that you will invite colleagues to visit the event website to also participate and engage with the presentations. All videos and discussions will be archived for future access there after.
Goals: The event will showcase cutting-edge NSF-funded work to improve teaching and learning and will allow colleagues affiliated with the CS10K Community, MSPnet, CADRE, CIRCL, CAISE, STELAR, and ARC to view, discuss, and comment on each others’ work. It will also allow each project to disseminate their work to the public at large, helping NSF achieve its goal of broad dissemination of innovative work.
Be a presenter: We invite your project to present your work by creating a video that showcases your intervention, innovation, and/or research. It should address potential impact, promise, and challenges. Make it no longer than 3 minutes and ensure that the sound is audible.

As this is the first such cross-resource center video showcase event, we are limiting it to 100 video presentations—so register early!
You must upload your video by May 4, 2015.
Your video submission includes your agreement to actively participate in the online event, which will take place from May 11-15, 2015.
Awards: During the event, facilitators from each resource center will select a few videos, which will recognize extraordinary creativity in the use of video to share innovative work. In addition, all visitors to the event will be asked to select those videos that they find most compelling. Those with the greatest number of public votes will also receive recognition online. Those presentations that are selected by facilitators and by the public will be broadly recognized throughout the NSF and STEM ed communities.
Criteria for inclusion: Your video must be related to a funded NSF project and the submitter must have some affiliation with one of the above resource centers. The video must be under three minutes and be designed to effectively convey your intervention, innovation, or research’s potential impact, promise, and challenges. Videos can be prepared by a team or by an inpidual project member. The audio must be audible online. Reviewers from each resource center will review videos to ensure they meet these criteria.
Audience: Create your video with as little technical language as possible so that it is accessible to a broad public audience, including funders, PIs, teachers, administrators, professional developers, industry, and the public at large.
Use and reuse of your video: The event will be accessible from the homepage of all the above named resource centers and will offer your project and video broad dissemination. Your video will be archived on the site after the event ends and will be accessible for you to link to in the future. Your video belongs to you. You can also reuse it for your own website or other project purposes.
