EAGER: Increasing the Supply of High-Quality Computer Science Instructors in Low-Income Communities

This project will increase the number of high quality computer science teachers teaching in the low-income communities in which Teach for America operates. Utilizing theExploring Computer Science (ECS) curriculum, first year corps members (teachers) will be prepared and supported in becoming strong computer science educators. The number of members with computer science backgrounds will also be increased through recruitment for the 2014 New York corps. Teach for America will train selected candidates and provideongoing professional development to prepare them to teach computer science courses to studentsin New York City public schools.
