The Digital Media and Learning initiative funded by the MacArthur Foundation is offering small grant to host brief summer events that link youth, mentors, and educators in building social tools (e.g., mobile apps) for the social good. Applications are due June 10th, but the applications aren't hard to write (if this is similar to past competitions). Anyone interested in trying to pull something together?

Most fun, interesting lesson/topic that illustrates what CS-P is all about

Hi Folks,

I will be doing a CS P presentation next week and wanted to teach a sample lesson for 10-15 minutes to illustrate what CS-P is all about. Can you let me know what your favorite, most interesting, and most CS-P-like lesson/topic was from this year? Whether or not you taught the topic, any ideas would be appreciated.

The overall idea is to demonstrate computational thinking within a short, fun, inclusive lesson. I am leaning towards an inquiry approach to the lesson.

Having trouble with CSS--need resources.

I'm having a lot of trouble making sense of CSS. The tutorials at w3schools don't make much sense to me and I am having trouble explaining CSS to my students. Does anybody know of a good reference that is understandable by someone with little skill in this?
