Week 16: Review and Final Exam

The final exam for CS590 will be the same as that given last year so that we can better evaluate the curriculum, except we are asking you to answer fewer questions.  The exam is somewhat long and is broken up into 4 sections. You will not have to answer all the questions in each section.  We have provided an Overall Final Exam Description (below) to help you prepare.  Each section can be taken separately.

Please Note: This is NOT the final exam that will be given to your CS108L students.

Overall Final Exam Description

Below are the preparatory handouts from last years CS590 class before the final exam.  Please note that the review provided is based on the CS Principles framework and is a review of the class in general not specific to this exam. Hence, it covers everything in the class. Not everything is on the final – please see the Overall Final Exam Description provided above.

The first handout is for informational purposes and will NOT be on the exam.

The CS Principles framework was developed by the College Board in association with the National Science Foundation and other groups.  It consists of the topics and learning objectives that guide the development of CS Principle's courses such as CS390/590.  You will note that in CS590 we covered many of the topics in the context of modeling and simulation.

Also provide last year were General Topics Study Guide arranged in the CS Principles Framework given above. Again, this is a summary of ALL the material and not specific to the final exam. In addition we provided a Programming Specific Study Guide which may be useful to you.
