As I am talking to folks about the CS Principles pilot this material is generating the most questions. Traditionally we just don't do data at the high school level.
Right now my classes are working on the Data Portfolio as a part of the pilot. I have been recording what we are doing, and what works and what doesn't work here: Data Unit.
For each unit I do in the pilot I try to balance between coding and computer science topics. For this unit we are working through data, and for coding we are learning how to do number calculations. The blog posts include my thinking on what we are doing and a daily list of activities.
None of this is perfect - I am really learning as I go, but it might give some ideas for how to approach this topic.
